Records of Jones Co, NC 1779-1868, by Zae Hargett Gwynn, 1963, page 113, Aug 4, 1783, John Eubanks, farmer, to Joseph Dew, farmer, for 5 pds gold and silver specie, a tract of land in Jones Co containing 200 acres being same land Elijah and George Eubanks gave deed to Joseph Dew, on S. Side of Trent River adjoining land of Wilks, Jarman, Rosco Lipsey, Thomas Evans, John Eubanks is eldest brother of Elijah and George Eubanks and heirs at law of their father, Thomas Eubanks, deceased, and since John Dew is concerned as to clear title to land, this deed if given to clear same. Wts: John Simmons, James Lipsey.

Full will:
In the name of God, Amen. The sixth 1776 of July, I, Thomas Eubanks pleased being of perfect mind and memory, thanks be given to God for it . Therefore calling to mind that mortality of my body, and knowing what is appointed for all men once to dye, do make this and ordain it my last will and testament and first of all I give and recomand my soul unto the hands of God. It and my body I recomend to the earth to be buried in decent Christian buriel at the direction of my executor never doubting but at the general reserection I shall receive the same by the mighty power of God as touching ever it please God to me with. (the following line I could not make out)

I give and bequeth unto my well beloved wife, Rachel Eubanks a third of my plantation and wood and timber to support it during the term of her natural life. And to my well beloved son Thomas I give and bequeath a certain tract of land as follows. Beginning at Trent River at a pine which is Emanuel Simons corner as being a tract of land taken up by Thomas Eveans then No 72 west 80 poles to a pine then No 26 east one hundred poles to a small oak tree then So 72 E to the River; and to my beloved son John as part of the same tract begining at the same oak above said and then runing North 208 one hundred yards? to a pine then south 28 to the river. and to my well beloved son George I give and bequeath a part of the same tract beginning at a marked pine and running westly of the referance being had then to then to the same pine running N 37 E to the river. And to my well beloved son Elijah I give and bequeath a part of tract of land formly by Charls with begining at the left wood in running south 60 E 83 poles to a gum then north 30 hundred and forth poles and I likewise give and bequeath all my land on the easterly side of the last said pine that I have not already given away, to my well beloved son Daniel and as for my estate I give and bequeath in the maner following to my well beloved son Elijah I give the bed and furniture that he sleeps upon and a young gray mare called fly a horse colt called Josse and my carpenters and shave (?) making tools to be equally divided between Elijah and Daniel and my bed and that I sleep on I give to Daniel and my hand mill I give to said Daniel after his Mothers decease and the mare that I give to Daniel called Fancey and to my Daughter Rachel Shepard I give a loom and what furniture she has got in her possession and to my daughter Rebecca Marker I give forty shillings money and my daughter Sally I give one bed and furniture and a(word appears to be) spinning wheel and a give pounds in money and al the rest of my estate I give to my well beloved wife during the term of her live and after her death to be equally divided among all my children and I also will that my sons Elijah and Daniel if either die without an heir that all of the estate that I have given them falls to the living on both real and personal. I likewise and ordain and make my loving Rachel Eubanks and my sons Elijah and Daniel my executor and excutria of this my last will and testament all and by her freeely to be present and injoined and I do hereby uterly and disavow all and every other testament ratifying this and confirming this not other to be my last will and testament in witness when unto I sealed and delivered in presents of us.
